As a school teacher covering English language for a class of lower ability boys at 14 years old I used this blog post and further research on basket ball origins. The boys I was teaching English play a lot of basketball and they not much interested in school. The lesson went well and I was not surprised when they completed paragraphs of text and asked to continue with the text in further lessons. Thanks for the post.

I do see that more males than females are gaining PHD's and have entered science in the past, although this is gradually changing through my observations. I teach at school and the students themselves also say that "Science is for men" and I do say that science is for everyone, doctors, biology, physics. There are male and female doctors, lecturers in science and employed by institutes and large companies around the world. Woman in science will grow with time as the students and children of today enter science professions and jobs.

Fine blog. I got a lot of great information. I've been keeping an eye on this technology for awhile. It's intriguing how it keeps changing, yet some of the core components stay the same. Have you seen much change since Google made their most recent acquisition in the field?

This is the first full-length social history of this public urban space, the book is by far the best version that ever written about Philadelphia, and as a long time resident for over 40 years and an active preservation activist, Nancy Heinzen gives us a different and unique point of view on this amazing site.
